Further Information | The first South Shields Lifeboat Saturday procession, 17 September 1904. Marching up Westoe Road past the entrance to Erskine Road on the right. "Worthing" lifeboat, built by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and manned by the Tyne Pilots. Procession included Wellesley Boys Brigade. A full report appeared in the Shields Gazette, 19 September 1904. |
