Further Information | The engraving was published by J. Asperne, successor to Mr Senell, Cornhill, 1.6.1803. The 'Original' lifeboat was built and designed by Greathead and Wouldhave at the latter end of 1789 and was in use for 40 years and saved approximately 400 lives. Caption reads - A perspective view of Mr H Greathead's lifeboat going out to assist a ship in distress. |
