| Further Information | Grange Farm, Monkton Village pictured 16 August 1982 when architects were trying to establish whether Monkton Village has the oldest house in Tyne and Wear. Grange Farm believed to date from the 1500s began life as a one roomed cottage. Additions were made to the front of the house and an upper storey was added about 1650. |
