| Further Information | Far end of West Holborn opposite Potts' Quay. Ballast was discharged from colliers by means of a horse turning in a circle and lifting the tub loaded with ballast from the ships hold. This was then discharged into carts which conveyed it to the ballast hill in Laygate Lane. |
