Further Information | North and South Marine Parks depicted in moonlight. The land for the creation of the parks was granted to South Shields by the Ecclesiastical Commissioners. The parks, which were designed by the Borough Engineer Matthew Hall, was created from ballast hills and waste land. They were opened on 25th June 1890 by Sir John Mowbray. North Marine Park bandstand and the Wouldhave Memorial can be seen on the left of the image. |
