| Further Information | At 21.09 hours on the evening of 30 September 1941 South Shields experienced wide spread bombing. A large area of properties were devastated along with the Shields Gazette and printing works which received a direct hit by heavy calibre bombing. The whole of the printing department was wrecked and part of the offices. There were no casualties. |
