Further Information	The card is signed by John Pounder. John Ponder was born in South Shields in 1899. He was an Able Seaman in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve. He served in the Drake Battalion and dies on the 13th November 1916 at the Battle of Ancre. He is buried at Ancre Cemetery.
