Further Information At 21.08 on 2 October 1941, four bombs hit Marlborough Street and Albany Street causing extensive damage. Many houses were flattened and others had to be demolished later. People were trapped in their houses or air raid shelters and there were numerous casualties. A Special Police Constable on duty on Marlborough Street was killed.
