Further Information | SS Sorlandet Norwegian traing ship for cadets,visiting various ports of British Isles. Ship built at Kristinasand 1927 for the Sorlandet Seiline Skeliskips Institution. First visited the Tyne1929 and also 1938. Sunk in World War II by Nazis. Susequently refloated and recommissioned by the Norwegians. This picture was taken while leaving the Port of Sunderland with the tug "Stag" towing ahead and the "Eppleton Hall" attached aft. "Stag" built in Liverpool 1897. |
