Further Information | RMS Empress of Canada. Launched at Vickers-Armstrong yard in Walker on Tyne on 10 May, 1960 and entered service in 1961. She was built for the Canadian Pacific Lines transatlantic route from Liverpool to Canada. She was sold to the Carnival Line and put back into service as the Mardi Gras. In 1993 she was sold to R.M.S Empress of Canada. Launched at Vickers-Armstrong yard in Walker on Tyne on May 10, 1960 and entered service in 1961. She was built for the Canadian Pacific Lines transatlantic route from Liverpool to Canada. In 1993 she was sold to Epirotiki and was often renamed (Olympic, Star of Texas, Lucky Star and finally Apollon) She was sold for scrap in 2003, having been in service for 42 years. |
