This is the oldest church in South Shields and the original parish church of the town, dating from the 7th century, and rebuilt around 1580. A corner of the Market Place is shown with the metal frames of the stalls ready for the next market day. A general market takes place on Saturday and Monday each week, and a Flea Market operates on Fridays. |
