| Further Information | The aftermath of a winter storm on the south foreshore. The building on the left is the remains of Frankie's Ritz cafe. Immediately behind the cafe is the New Crown Hotel and the block of flats at the end of Mowbray Road. In front of the houses is the bandstand known locally as Ghandi's Temple. On the right of the photograph the tower for Westoe Colliery can be seen in the mist. |
