| Further Information | The Pilot Cutter 'Protector' was built by JP Rennoldson and Sons, South Shields in 1907. On 31st December 1915 the boat hit a mine and exploded while attending to a vessel off the mouth of the Tyne. The nineteen men aboard were killed. |
