| Further Information | From the Shell periodical. "Paddle tug to Frisco" one of England's last paddle tugs. The 55years old Eppleton Hall was rescued from Clayton and Davies breakers yard on the Tyne by by American Newspaper Executive Scott Newman for £2,500 and given a $100,00refit. She sailed on Monday September 15th 1969 for San Francisco using BP Gasoleum and Shell lubricants. Her previous longest trip was 30miles up the Northumbrian. |
