| Further Information | A model illustrating a proposed iron ore treatment plant at Tyne Dock. The Sheerness Steel Company proposed to build a plant at either Tyne Dock or Hartlepool. The layout shows how the new plant would have been sited over 53 acres of Tyne Dock estate and the eastern area of the reclaimed Jarrow Slake. The key is 1,the treatment plant; 2, new deep water quay to serve the plant; 3, iron ore stockpiles; 4, office and maintenance blocks; 5, Sutherland Quay; 6, Riverside Quay. |
