| Further Information | "Port Auckland" pictured in Brigham's Dock, South Shields. Her sister ship "Port Brisbane" can be seen across the river at Smith's Docks. The "Port Auckland" was built by R & W Hawthorn Leslie & Co Ltd, St Peter's, Newcastle and the "Port Brisbane" was built by Swan Hunters to enable both ships to be built in 1949. |
