| Further Information | 14 February 1881 two vessels drove ashore on the herd sands, to the South of the South Pier. One was the Brigantine Anne of Sunderland and the other the Brigantine Reaper of Guernsey. Crew were rescued by South Shields VLB, both ships went to pieces the next day. Photographer Borrows. |
