Further Information | Mill Dam ferry landing, established 1862, for ferry boats which sailed from South Shields to Newcastle and ferry landings in between. Crisp and Robinson, ship store merchants and J.Morton, opticians, can be seen on the Mill Dam landing. In the background is the Customs House and to it's left the River Police station. |
