Further Information | River Street now absorbed into Readhead's works. River Street which at one time provided an entrance to Tyne Dock, is being sealed off. It provided extra working and storage space for two adjoining firms, Robson's boatbuilders and W.C. and J.P. Hutchinson, timber merchants. The Fountain Hotel is in the middle of the block and the London Hotel is on the right. Both hotels were demolished in 1919. |
