Further Information | Black and white photograph showing Libby, the black and white moggie who is turning into a real Puss in Books. For the wandering feline has taken a fancy to South Shields Central Library where he has set up home. Libby, also called Ref Cat since he is being cared for by the reference section staff, wandered into the library three weeks ago and has booked a permanent place. He is on the doorstep each morning waiting to be let in for his breakfast but he has to go out each night after the last customer. Hildred Whale, reference services librarian, has already taken him home four times, but with two cats of her own, she can't make this a permanent arrangement. Now she's hoping he will be claimed by his owner, or go to a good home where his obvious intelligence will be appreciated. She is pictured with Libby while he traces his family ancestors. |
