Further Information Sepia Photograph of L Wright and Sons Cricket Club. The bearded figure
in the centre row is Mr. Harry Wright son of the Leonard Wright the
founder of the firm. Next to him is Thomas Charnley who was appointed
manager in 1912. The date of the photograph is uncertain and may have
been taken during the Geart War, or immediately before or after.
Although there are men of military age in the picture, the factory was
'ou war work'. Therafter it became more difficult to convince the
military authorities that a young man was essential to the smooth
production of 'Hard Tack'.

One of the moustached men in the back row was a traveller called John
Ferguson, he is either 4th or 8th from the right. The second seated
figure from the right, next but one from Mr. H.Wright is believed to
be a man called Hanson who later became a well known members of South
Shiel;ds Transport Corporation.

Presented 2 June 1971 by Don Charnley.
