Further Information | On the reverse of the photo is a testimonial which reads ' Dear Sirs, I have been training hard to win a 24 mile walk here, promoted by the South Shields Recreation Committee. I succeeded in winning, and had the pleasure of beating some of the best men in the country, including J. Butler, the long distance champion and others. During the whole of my training I have used your 'Hixopad' Rubber Heels, one pair usually lasting three months, and I walk on an average 110 miles per week. I also wore a pair on my boots during the race. Tom Payne. |
