Further Information | Black and white photograph showing rear view of the of Royal Assembly Hall opened in 1891 which also had a connection to the Royal Hotel on Ocean Road. The building later became a cinema, namely Scala, Gaumont, and Focus It had two entrances, Mile End Road and Ocean Road. The two covered passageways span Queen Street behind Ocean Road thereby linking the buildings. The waste ground in the foreground is part of the old Marine School on Ocean Road. |
