| Further Information | The first dock gate being lifted into position at Readhead's No. 1 Dry Dock. The Dry Dock had been out of use since the previous November when a ship seriously damaged the two gates. The second gate was restored to its position a few days later and the dock was able to reopen. The gates were renovated at Wallsend Dry Docks. |
