| Further Information | The remains of the old water pant at West Holborn, where water was sold at a "farthing per skeel, about three and one quarter gallons. The skeels were carried in large wooden buckets on the head" Hodgson p153. An elderly woman was usually in charge. The building behind was one of the salt pans. |
