| Further Information | The statue of Queen Victoria wrapped in protective sheets and ropes in preparation for her move from Chichester back to South Shields Town Hall. The site on which she stood was developed as Chichester Metro station. The Passenger Transport Executive considered leaving the statue on the forecourt of the Metro station. Other sites considered were the Market Square, in Prince Georg Square by Central Library and in South Marine Park. |
