| Further Information | Situated in Ferry Street. Alum Ale House has served as a watering hole for locals since the 19th century. A favourite of the scullermen who plied their trade on the river. Reputed to be haunted by a series of characters; a Victorian gentleman, Giggly Meg, the Grey Lady and the phantom barman etc. The premises was formely known as the Alum House and was connected to Isaac Cookson's glassmaking firm. |
