Further Information | Has been a church on this site since 647 AD. Original church destroyed by Viking raiders. Earliest mention of a St. Hild church dates back to 1093. The site from that date was always occupied. From Norman times until the beginning of the 19th century the church had been altered that all trace of the original building had been lost. The majority of the church was rebuilt and refurbished from about 1810. |
