Further Information The Tin Chapel, Baring Street, first opened as a Methodist Chapel,
24.4.1883, used until the new chapel was constructed, opposite, some
20 years later. It once operated as a cinema. the Excelsior, when a
ticket of the day would cost a child under 14 one penny, for which
they would also receive a free stick of toffee. Later, in 1917, it
would become the Woodbine Laundry and eventually a firewood store.
