| Further Information | Old Whitburn House, later simplyfied to Olde House, was built in the 18th century out of handmade bricks. It was built with its back facing onto the road, the front facing south onto the garden. The house was built for William Wilkinson and in 1834 became the home of Richard Spoor, Mayor of Sunderland. |
