| Further Information | The Nord was the first ship built by John Readhead after his partnership with John Softley was dissolved. Built for Mr Charles Berthalot Derode, of Dunkirk, it was named by Miss S Readhead, 22 August 1872. The original of this photo was found behind a framed picture, 1972. The Nord is fully loaded as she is sitting low in the water. Location not known - possibly Tyne Dock. |
